背に据えたお灸の熱さに、思わずうつむき加減になる女性の姿が描かれています。「風俗三十二相」は、異なる時代や身分の女性たちの暮らしや風俗を、芳年が巧みな観察眼と豊かな表現力で描いた晩年の代表作です。

From Thirty-two Aspects of Customs and Manners, this design shows a woman bowing her head slightly, feeling the heat of moxa applied to her back. The series, one of Yoshitoshi’s late masterpieces, portrays women of different eras and social classes, capturing their lives and customs with keen observation and expressive detail.
