「風流四季遊」は、四季折々の風物と、その季節を楽しむ女性たちを組み合わせた美人画シリーズです。今作では、菖蒲の咲く水辺にたたずむ二人の女性が、初夏の風情の中で優美に描かれています。

Furyu Shiki Asobi (Elegant Pleasures of the Four Seasons) is a series of bijinga that pairs women enjoying the seasons with seasonal motifs. In this print, two elegantly dressed women stand beside blooming irises, gracefully evoking the atmosphere of early summer.
