日常の一瞬に宿るふとした仕草や表情を巧みに描いています。

本図「ねむそう」では眠気をこらえるように横たわる女性を妖艶に描いています。

“Thirty-Two Aspects of Customs and Manners” is one of Yoshitoshi’s finest series of bijin-ga, depicting women of different eras and social classes.

Each work captures subtle gestures and fleeting expressions from everyday life with remarkable sensitivity.

In this print, “Sleepy,” a woman is portrayed lying down, sensually resisting drowsiness.
