炎の中、着物の裾をひるがえしながら火の見櫓を登るお七の姿と、火消したちの姿が描かれています。

燃えさかる火の粉が、火災の激しさと臨場感をいっそう際立たせています。

This dramatic diptych depicts a famous scene from the story of Yaoya Oshichi.

Amid the flames, Oshichi climbs the fire watchtower with the hem of her kimono billowing behind her, while firefighters are shown below.

Blazing sparks emphasize the ferocity of the fire and add a vivid sense of drama to the scene.
