「風俗三十二相」は、異なる時代や身分の女性たちの暮らしや風俗を描いた芳年晩年の代表作。

劇的な場面ではなく、日常の一瞬に宿るふとした仕草や表情を巧みに描いたシリーズです。

こちらの作品は《かゆさう》。

蒸し暑さと蚊の煩わしさに思わず衣がはだける仕草が描かれています。

“Thirty-Two Aspects of Customs and Manners” is one of Yoshitoshi’s late masterpieces, depicting women of different eras and social classes.

Rather than dramatic scenes, the series skillfully captures subtle gestures and fleeting expressions found in everyday life.

This work, “Kayuso” (Feeling Itchy), portrays a woman loosening her kimono, irritated by the summer heat and the bother of mosquitoes.
