国貞による美人画シリーズ《十六むさし》。

江戸時代に流行した盤上遊戯をモチーフに、盤面を思わせる幾何学的な背景が印象的なシリーズです。

各図の副題は「〜さし」で統一されており、本図は「ばかのめざし」。

バカ貝（青柳）を串に刺して干した様子が描かれ、江戸らしい洒落や遊び心を感じさせます。

From Kunisada’s bijin-ga series Juroku Musashi.
Inspired by a popular Edo-period board game, the series is known for its striking geometric backgrounds reminiscent of the game board.

Each print in the series features a subtitle ending in “-sashi,” and this one is titled Baka no Mezashi.
It depicts bakagai clams (aoyagi) skewered and hung out to dry, reflecting the playful wit and humor of Edo culture.
