「諸国名橋奇覧」は、日本各地の名橋を題材としたシリーズです。
本図には、烏川（現在の群馬県高崎市）に架かっていたと伝わる舟橋が描かれています。
シリーズ唯一の雪景色で、静寂に包まれた冬の情緒が北斎ならではの巧みな構図によって美しく表現されています。
The Remarkable Views of Famous Bridges in Various Provinces series features famous bridges from across Japan.
This print depicts the pontoon bridge said to have once crossed the Karasu River (present-day Takasaki, Gunma Prefecture). The only snowy scene in the series, it beautifully conveys the quiet mood of winter through Hokusai’s masterful composition.
